HOBA

HoBa 01 is a versatile piece of furniture that combines stool, bench, lounger, and table in one. The name stands for "Hocker Bank" (stool bench) and refers to the core idea of the design: a clear, reduced formal language that nevertheless offers a wide range of uses. HoBa 01 emerged from an exploration of various cultural and design influences. Inspired by the minimalist aesthetic of Scandinavian design, the floor-level dining culture of Japan, and the stability and simplicity of a classic stool or bench, the design combines functionality with a warm, handcrafted character.

HoBa 01 is made from oiled ash wood, which, with its characteristic grain and light color, gives the piece a natural yet restrained appearance. Thanks to the oil finish, the surface remains breathable and develops a pleasant feel that makes direct contact with the furniture particularly enjoyable. For the upholstery, a high-quality fabric from a small manufactory in Italy is used. The upholstery work is carried out by the company Bisch Chandaroff in Dresden, known for its precise and high-quality craftsmanship.
